Any one including you and me want to be happy..That is no wrong...but unfortunately we search for happiness in a person, place, event or a moment...but the same set of events on repeatation would not give same happiness.. since you are searching in wrong locations... you your self is nityanada (you need to understand the true meaning of this).. you are happiness..
unless you intrepret things correctly..it can be misleading and compare with materialistic aspects..you need to have clear thoughts

Happiness is relative...
A beggar would be happy if he gets a meal..An employee will be happy if we gets salary..almost all of us try to find happiness in everything..we go after things to find happiness.. each time..we fail to realize what exaclty we mean when we are happy or when we want to be happy.. Happiness through materialistic pleasures stays only for a small amount of time.. Everlasting happiness needs something related to the self.. If we know who we are..what our true selves are..once we realize our true selves.. the things you do or the way you see the world..n when you know what you really want in life...then once can experience true happiness..long lasting one..
Often..we don't realize that we are happy when we are actually happy... whenever we feel good/we feel we are having good life..if we can spend 10 mins for our selves..ex: go for a walk..think about yourself..think what you achieved in life..if we can try to find a pattern in all the things that happened in our life..that may help give us the purpose of our life..the purpose of being here on earth...
